I have a page where i want to show orders/order details.

The TableTools fnSelect() method will programmatically select rows (assuming you are using TableTools).

I can't seem to get my tooltip to fire on my table. I haven't seen any examples or questions about this for quite a while -- am I doing something wrong here?

Try what I have below. I've never tried including data that was true or false, but I think it will show up as a string in the table.

See the second top FAQ. In this case if you want to use the legacy API use $().dataTable() (lowercase D). I would suggest using row().data() instead though.
