Q. What is the difference between DataTables and DataTables Plus?
A. DataTables Plus is a suite of premium extensions that expand the capabilities of DataTables core. They do not require a special version of DataTables - the core software is unchanged.

Q. Do I need a DataTables Plus license to use just DataTables?
A. No. DataTables core is free open source software available under the MIT license and you can download and use it from our download builder. A DataTables Plus license is required to use the extensions labelled "Plus".

Q. How long will I receive updates?
A. The license includes all updates that are released for one year after the purchase. You can select the subscription option to have the license renewal happen automatically, so you can update at any time.

Q. What happens after a year if I select "No subscription"?
A. DataTables Plus will continue to work as before, the software won't be effected. The license is perpetual for the versions that are released within a year of your purchase date. But if you wish to upgrade to a newer version released after that period, you would need to purchase an upgrade license.

Q. How much the the license renewal?
A. Renewal of an existing license is 50% of the original price. An additional 20% discount is applied automatically for subscription payments.

Q. What happens after purchase?
A. You will receive an email with the license key that you can use on your page / app with the DataTable.key() method. The key will also be available on your account page.

Q. Is there a free trial?
A. Yes - use the download builder to start a free 15 day trial.

Q. What happens at the end of my trial?
A. At the end of the 15 day trial period, a message will be shown in your app / site stating that a license key is required to be able to continue using the software. No data will be lost, and reactivation is as simple as using DataTable.key() to set your license key once purchased.

Q. How do you define a developer for the licensing?
A. A developer is a person who is working directly or indirectly on software that integrates DataTables Plus. This includes both front-end developers and designers, as well as server-side developers who work on integrating the form and database controls. Developers working on completely different modules of your application are not included.

Q. How many web-sites / applications can I use DataTables Plus on?
A. DataTables Plus licenses are per seat (i.e. per developer) rather than being limited to an individual web-site. A developer can use DataTables Plus on as many web-sites or web-applications as you wish.

Q. What types of payment do you accept?
A. All major debit and credit cards are accepted, as well as single payments through PayPal. Subscriptions cannot currently be paid by PayPal. For 10 or more developer packages we can accept payments by bank transfer, cheque or Purchase Order. For information on these options, please get in touch.
